1.Sollicitatie (Instrumentkabels):
BS 5308-kabels zijn ontworpen om communicatie- en besturingssignalen te dragen in een verscheidenheid aan installatietypes, waaronder die in de petrochemische industrie. De signalen kunnen van het analoge, data- of spraaktype zijn en van een verscheidenheid aan transducers zoals druk, nabijheid en microfoon. Deel 1 Type 3-kabels zijn over het algemeen ontworpen waar een grotere mate van mechanische en chemische bescherming is vereist of waar directe begraving op een geschikte diepte is vereist. Collectief en individueel gescreende paren zijn beschikbaar binnen het assortiment. Voor installaties waar brand, rookontwikkeling en giftige dampen een potentieel risico vormen voor mensenlevens en apparatuur.
